CONOR DWYER'S FAMILY
Hi again! We’re glad to be here another week. Some
weeks ago we made a recap of Conor Dwyer’s life so you could know more about
him (in case you haven’t read it yet, just click here).
Now that you know a little bit more about Conor, it’s
time to know more about his family. As you know Conor is very close to his
family, he tries to be with them in important dates through the year. Sometimes
it’s not possible because Conor is busy with his training schedule but when he
has the chance to travel to Chicago or Florida with his family he does it.
We’re making a
little recap of each member of Conor’s immediate family (not doing a recap of
the whole family because we will never finish haha).
From left to right: Conor, Spencer, PJ, Jeanne, Brenden, Patrick and Pati |
Let’s begin with Conor’s
father, Mr. Patrick Dwyer. He works at a financial company. It sounds too
serious, but actually he seems like a nice and relaxed father. He likes
swimming, in fact he and his wife swim about four times a week in an aquatic
center in Evanston, Illinois.
He supports unconditionally Conor and he’s been a key
in Conor’s swimming career because he has helped Conor both financially and
emotionally. He taught Conor the skills of hard work and they have a
very good relationship. He likes to send Conor some joking texts or smack talk
to keep him relaxed about swimming and not take it too serious. He’s also been on Conor’s side in the most important
events such as the NCAA, the London Olympic Games, Olympic Trials and you might
remember Mr. Patrick Dwyer cheering for Conor in the World Trials in
Indianapolis last month. So we hope he can travel with the rest of the family
to support Conor in Barcelona.
Conor’s mom, Jeanne Dwyer,
was an all American swimmer for the Florida State University and as we just
wrote, she still swims. She’s been an inspiration for Conor and she helped him
to be involved in swimming, she was his first coach when Conor was seven years
old but she taught him how to swim since Conor was just a baby. And as a good
mother she’s always supported him and his siblings.
It must be so difficult be
the mother of five children but clearly Jeanne has done an amazing job. Besides
being a great mom, Jeanne is also a very charitable person and likes to help
different foundations just as her parents taught her. Actually she and Conor
are part of the Misericordia family (a foundation in Chicago).
Spencer Dwyer is Conor’s
twin brother, they actually don’t look alike so much but both are so handsome. Spencer
didn’t study at the University of Florida like Conor did, he studied at the
University of Indiana but Spencer always spent important dates and holidays
with his family. Spencer currently lives in Minneapolis but he travels to
support his twin brother in some swim meets. He also swims but not in a
professional way (you probably have seen some recent pics on Instagram or
videos on Vine of Spencer and his siblings swimming in Indianapolis also is
worth to mention they are good friends of Allison Schmitt, new Conor’s training
partner in Baltimore).
Spencer and Conor have a
good brother-relationship you can prove that just taking a look on the tweets
they send to each other. And talking
about social media we have to say thanks to Spencer because he sometimes posts
great pics of him and Conor.

Patrick Dwyer Jr., aka PJ,
is Conor’s younger brother. He graduated from Loyola University. He also has a
good brother-relationship with Conor and the rest of the Dwyer family. He’s now
the only one who lives in Chicago with his parents and as the rest of the
family he has always been there supporting Conor.
PJ also likes swimming and
he swims but not in a professional way like Conor.

Let's continue with Brenden
Dwyer, he is still a college student at the Saint Louis University who also
swims but not in a professional way either. Brenden and Conor have a good
brother-relationship that's why we have seen so many pictures of both of them
together. And judging by the comments we've seen, lots of girls are in love
with him and we totally understand them because he's so handsome (just as the
rest of the Dwyer brothers haha).
The only Conor's sister is Pati, she just graduated from high school (Loyola Academy in case you haven’t guessed) and now she just moved to Texas to study at the Texas Christian University. Pati always supports his brother Conor and he recently posted a pic on Instagram which Pati sent him as motivation for the world trials. She's so sweet for always being there cheering for Conor and just as a curious fact, Pati designed those amazing and colorful shirts which all the family wore in London. What an amazing way to support your big brother!!
She always posts great pictures of Conor and the rest of the family on Instagram and we really appreciate it!!

As a special mention we would like to talk about a little bit about Conor's
grandparents. Sally and James Dowdle (Jeanne's parents) two amazing and
charitable people who had been honored by the Loyola Academy (the one Conor and
his siblings attended) for helping that Academy and also some other foundations
in Illinois. You could see them in London supporting his Olympian grandson and
also in the past world trials cheering for Conor.
They are so sweet!! Conor
is so lucky to have amazing grandparents and in general an amazing family.
Well as you could read
swimming runs through the Dwyer family veins that's why they understand Conor's
absences in some familiar events and they are always by Conor's side supporting
him in every decision he takes. They attend swim meets and maybe they are now
packing and booking their flight to Barcelona.
Conor and his family are
very close and now we all understand why Conor is so handsome (that comes from
his family).
That was all for this post.
Hope you like it and see you soon!
