Why you should vote for Ryan Lochte for the 2013 Golden Goggle Awards?

Hi everyone!!! Here we are again bringing you a whole new blog and yes, as you could see in the title we're going to give you some reasons why Ryan should be the athlete of the year and also take the award for male race of the year among some other things in the 2013 Golden Goggle Awards. So now just keep reading down below and we hope you like it and of course hope you all vote for Ryan haha!!

As you might know, you can already vote for the 2013 Golden Goggle Awards and as we have posted on twitter and Facebook, Ryan is nominee for male race of the year and athlete of the year.

In both categories he's competing against Matt Grevers. As you can remember Matt Grevers won a gold medal in the World Championships in Barcelona (100 m backstroke) and he was also one of the captains of the US swim team. He did a remarkable job as captain of the team handling in the best possible way the disqualification of the men's 4x100 medley relay.

So there's no doubt Matt is such an amazing athlete, teammate and that makes even harder to choose, however for us the decision is kind of obvious but not just because we are huge fans of Ryan, there are many reasons why we think Ryan deserves to be the winner.

Let's start with reasons related to swimming:

Reason No 1: Ryan broke a world record in the 200m IM at the Short Course World Championships in Istanbul back in December 2012 that was such an epic race. We know that was on 2012 and USA Swimming is emphasizing on achievements at the 2013 FINA World Championships, but come on, that race should be nominee!!

Reason No 2: He's the most versatile swimmer in the USA, that's why in one day he had to swim many events at the World Championships in Barcelona 2013, but despite of that, he did an amazing job and got 2 gold medals (200m backstroke and 4x200m freestyle relay) and also he was top qualifier for the 100m butterfly final.

Reason No 3: Even though the end of the 4x100m medley relay in Barcelona wasn't as we would love, all the guys did an amazing job. But something really remarkable about Ryan's performance was that he swam the fly stroke and he gave back the advantage to the team, swimming really really really fast even when we know that butterfly is not exactly his strongest stroke. But Ryan knew he was not alone so he did his best to make his team proud.
He also did an outstanding job in the 4x100 and 4x200m free relay helping the team to win a silver medal and a gold one.

Reason No 4: We all know that maybe Ryan was a little bit unfocused when it comes about swimming (all because of his own reality show and all the appearances he made on TV in order to promote it), but when the time came, he showed everybody that he could do everything. We mean, you all remember his big come back in Santa Clara GP and then in Indianapolis, getting his place in the US team in many events and later in Barcelona bringing home 3 gold medals and 1 silver becoming in the swimmer who has won more medals in World championships.

Reason No 5: As if that wasn’t enough, Ryan won the men’s overall title for the 2012-13 Arena Grand Prix Series, next to Missy Franklin.
So… if those are not enough reasons to deserve the award of athlete of the year and male race of the year, we really don't know what it’s necessary!!

Obviously there's many other reasons, talking about swimming, why Ryan deserves these awards but we're gonna stop here and now let's move on to some other reasons why we think Ryan deserves all your votes and support.

Reason No 6: Ryan always has had without a doubt the support of all his fans but there's a reason for that and that is that he is always so kind and approachable, he never says no if any fan asks him for an autograph or a pic, he knows what it means to someone to get a pic or an autograph of someone you admire and that's something we've always loved about him. And if any of you have been lucky enough to meet him you know this is true.

Reason No 7: Besides being one of the best swimmers EVER, Ryan is also worried about helping, an example of that is what he has done to help children with muscular dystrophy. Maybe some people might think that what we saw on WWRLD about this, was just to be shown on TV but that is definitely not true because Ryan has helped that foundation before that. He has a pretty special sympathy with children, so it’s not a surprise that he does everything to help them as much as he can, doing annual donations to Parent Project and he's also involved in research for a cure. Maybe some of you remember Ryan recently got his own frozen yogurt flavor and it was all for charity.
Ryan is the spokesperson for the Mac Crutchfield Foundation named after 12 year old swimmer who tragically drowned during a thunderstorm in the summer of 2008. He helps in fund raising dinners and some other events to help the foundation throughout the year.

Ryan partnered with Yogurtology to raise money for charities he's been supporting during the past few years including of course Mac Crutchfield Foundation and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.

And more recent Ryan took part in the event Swim for Relief to help the affected people of Sandy hurricane.

And we know these awards are all about swimming and USA Swimming is giving the awards based in the performances of the athletes in the sport but we think human quality is so important as well. And yes, Ryan definitely has the best of both worlds, a great athlete and a great Human being. Swimming has given so much to Ryan but definitely he has given back every time he can.

This year Ryan went through so many things trying to handle and balance his compromises with swimming and his TV show but it would be so unfair to judge him because of that when there's a whole background full of records and medals that support the brilliant career of this INCREDIBLE athlete (Ryan), because at the end of the day what matters is that he is an amazing swimmer and a great human being and the results proved that he’s still such a great swimmer respected and recognized all over the world not just by his fans also by many other swimmers who has taken him as an example.
So definitely Ryan has inspired many other swimmers and fans just by being so awesome in whatever he does.

So now guys it's time for you to help Ryan by voting for him for Male Race of the Year, Athlete of the Year and also you can vote for the Men’s 4x200m free relay as Relay Performance of the Year (Ryan was part of it).
One more time we want to clear that we have nothing against Matt Grevers, he's definitely a great swimmer as well, but for us no one deserves those awards more than Ryan Lochte.

Please! Please! Please! Vote for him as many times as you can (well, as many time as the web page lets you), just clic here.

Thanks for reading this post. We hope all the reasons we just gave you, are enough for you to cast your vote for Ryan.

P.S. In the category “Male Race of the Year” Ryan is nominee for his performance in the 200m back and 200m IM at the World Championships in Barcelona 2013.

It would be more convenient if you could give your vote to the 200m IM, because it has received more votes (more possibilities to win).
